  • Is Voltarol Emulgel Extra Strength 2% w\w Gel right for me?

    Voltarol Emulgel Extra Strength 2% w/w Gel is suitable for people who experience joint pain and inflammation that lasts throughout the day. Voltarol Emulgel Extra Strength 2% w/w Gel provides all-day relief from pain and inflammation in joints. If you want to keep enjoying your everyday activities, then double strength Voltarol Emulgel Extra Strength 2% w/w Gel can help you take back control of your life by providing you with long-lasting pain relief. Voltarol Emulgel Extra Strength 2% w/w Gel can be used for up to 7 days under pharmacy supervision. If symptoms do not improve by day 7, or if they worsen within the first 7 days, a consultation with a doctor is recommended. You should not use this gel for more than 7 days. If the pain and swelling do not improve within 7 days, or if they get worse, tell your doctor.
    The gel is not recommended for use in children under 14 years of age.

    Voltarol Emulgel Extra Strength 2% w/w Gel requires only two applications per day, approximately 12 hours apart (morning and evening), to provide all-day concentrated relief from pain and inflammation. Regular application (according to instructions) creates a reservoir of diclofenac, the active ingredient, deep within the skin – a source of medicine that is available throughout the day.

  • What is special about Voltarol Emulgel Extra Strength 2% w\w Gel?

    Voltarol Emulgel Extra Strength 2% w/w Gel can provide concentrated all-day pain relief by targeting pain and inflammation at the source. By applying the gel twice a day (morning and evening), a reservoir of diclofenac is formed to give the skin a source of active ingredient that provides long-lasting all-day pain relief (when applied regularly according to instructions). The Emulgel technology used in Voltarol Emulgel Extra Strength 2% w/w Gel helps the active ingredient diclofenac to penetrate deeply into the skin and reach the site of the pain and swelling.

  • When should I NOT use Voltarol Emulgel Extra Strength 2% w\w Gel?

    You should not use Voltarol Emulgel Extra Strength 2% w/w Gel if:

    • You are allergic to diclofenac, propylene glycol, isopropyl alcohol, butylhydroxy toluene or any of the other ingredients
    • You are pregnant
    • You have ever had an asthma attack or allergic reaction after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs such as diclofenac or ibuprofen
    • If you are using NSAIDs or other products containing diclofenac
    • Children under 14 years of age

     

    If you have any other health conditions or you are taking any other medications, including those that do not require a prescription, always ask your pharmacist or doctor if Voltarol Emulgel Extra Strength 2% w/w Gel is suitable for you. In addition, before you start using Voltarol Emulgel Extra Strength 2% w/w Gel carefully read the product information leaflet included in the pack for instructions on how to use.

    Voltarol Emulgel Extra Strength 2% w/w Gel should only be applied to healthy skin and not rubbed into open wounds, infections, open injuries or any other area where the skin is abnormal.

    Voltarol Emulgel Extra Strength 2% w/w Gel should not be used with air-tight or water-tight dressings, however, non-sealed breathable bandages can be used. For further details regarding precautions of using Voltarol products please consult your doctor or pharmacist.

    The use of diclofenac in pregnant women has not been studied; therefore, Voltarol Emulgel products should not be used during pregnancy.
